Women & the City

On Sunday 26 October, Andrea Mati participated in “Women & the City”: an event over eight days in Turin centred on gender equality.

The citywide festival has returned to Turin for its third edition, titled “Women & the City”. Dedicated to the themes of gender equality and inclusion, it is organised by the association Torino Città per le Donne (TOxD).

The 2025 edition is taking place in an expanded format distributed across the city and in seven nearby towns — Collegno, Druento, Nichelino, Pianezza, Settimo Torinese, Torre Pellice and Val della Torre — and features an eight-day programme spread over five days in October and three in November.

The event brings together over 300 guests and more than 100 activities, including talks, debates and personal accounts that map out a cultural and civic journey that already looks ahead to the next stop in Bari in 2026, for Torino Città per le Donne to build fairer, more inclusive and sustainable cities.

A festival that speaks of and together with the city, welcoming diverse voices — from educators and entrepreneurs to cultural workers, decision-makers and storytellers — through performances and artistic events.

At its heart, the event revolves around four main themes: business, education, gender-based violence and gender-sensitive healthcare and prevention.

The idea is simple: build networks, create connections and open spaces to share ideas, experiences and transformative practices.

Women & the City is a festival that envisions cities that are fairer, more inclusive, sustainable and accessible.

A space for whoever is ready to change perspective, connect and take action.
